Two-stroke lover!
The next upgrade for my Ciao, a variomatic transmission. I bought a used set in Holland, with all the parts needed to fit on the Ciao. The variomatic is a stepless automatic transmission, the benefits are very good acceleration and top speed.

I’m building a new engine for my Vespa Ciao, the original engine is just a bit too slow. I’m keeping the original engine, i bought a second engine for this tuning project.

A short video after i’ve finished adjusting it, i might put a smaller pulley in the rear to get a little more top speed. Right now it does a little over 60 km/h.
Got a really good deal on a 1979 Motobecane TM4, i couldn’t say no.
Motobecane is a french company, but this moped is made in Italy. It’s equipped with a 4 speed Franco Morini UC4 engine. It needed a big service and had a leaking seal on the crankshaft.

Early August we went on our annual moped holiday, four days in southern Denmark and Funen. We found some great routes and perfect shelters to sleep in every night. The weather was great, except the last day on our way home.
Sadly our friend Henrik had to go back after one day, his newly bored cylinder started to rattle a lot! Other than that we only had some minor breakdowns. Ripped cables, loosened sprocket nut, some ignition point adjustments and only a single flat tyre!
I’ve been sick of painting parts with rattlecans for a long time. The surface is just too weak, tighten a bolt and the paint chips off. I started to watch some youtube videos about DIY powder coating, i had to try it myself!
I found a cheap solution at nordicpulver.dk – a tribo gun that charges the powder in a teflon nozzle. No seperate charging station and high voltage gun is required. I grabbed a few bags of powder and placed an order. To bake the powder i bought a cheap Ikea oven, nothing fancy and it has a good internal size.
Check the gallery for the result of my first try. I didn’t do anything to the parts to make them look better, i just sandblasted, cleaned and coated them.
