Two-stroke lover!
We finally got the cylinder back from repair, brand new Meteor piston and nikasil coating. Can’t wait to testride it, when the snow and salt is gone.
Beautiful chamfering on all ports, very nice done. Contact Achim fromĀ kreidlerschrauber.de if you need a new Nikasil coating, but be patient, it takes a while.
Since it has been a long time that i fixed the engine for my FS1, i thought is was time to get some work done on the frame. I will use this moped for our annual moped touring, so i better get going.
I’ve cleaned the parts and started to test fit some new used parts that i bought for this project.
I sold my DT 125 to a friend, and changed my FZ6 to this Husqvarna WR 250 from 2000. It’s a 250 cc two-stroke single cylinder enduro bike. Some say it has about 50 HP, all i know is that it’s pretty fast š
It has some small flaws that i’m fixing at the moment, but in general it’s in good condition.

My friend Benno bought a 2-speed Puch Monza from 1981. The engine sounded terrible, it had a very loud constant bearing whine. So we’re taking it apart, clean everything, replace the crankshaft, bearings and seals. I also had the chance to test my new ultrasound cleaner, which did a great job on the very filthy Bing 12 mm carb.

I know it’s not the right way to check this, but the damage is obvious in this case. I think it must have less then 0,05 mm trow to be usable.
Shot a quick video today with my new GoPro 3 White edition. I used Windows Movie maker to edit the raw material, sadly i lost alot of video quality doing so. I’m going to buy a better video editing software in the future.
The frame, wheels and forks don’t need a lot of work. WeĀ disassemble everything to clean, grease and adjust it. Everything will go back together the way it was.
This is the second part of the engine restoration, we’ve got all the parts to get it assembled again.
