As per our tradition, we start the new season with a moped party in the easter holidays. Sadly the weather had forgot about us, we woke up to 10 cm snow. We kept the ride short and the party longer. Below are pictures and a video.

Two-stroke lover!
Finally some time for my own projects again. I’ve started to build a Puch Monza from all kinds of spare parts, leftovers from other projects or parts that where to ugly to re-use.
Nothing will look good or be close to a original Monza, my only goal is that the mechanics work perfectly and that it can carry alot of baggage.

The end of the 2017 riding season is close, we celebrated this eventful year with a party. We the local artist and rapper L:Ron:Harald come by, to make us some grafitti artwork. While he was busy spraying, we rode our mopeds, raced them and had other fun challenges.

Another spreadsheet i’ve made, to calculate the speed of your moped at a given RPM. You need to know the details of your engine, gearbox, sprockets and rear wheel. You can find most of it in a spare parts catalogue, or simply count the teeth on all sprockets.
If you want to calculate the velocity for a single speed engine like a Puch Maxi, just type the same value in “1 Gear” in the primary and secondary fields. I’ve made the file up to a 6 speed gearbox.
You can use MS Excel, OpenOffice, LibreOffice or a similar program.
I’ve made a spreadsheet that you can use to calculate the ingition timing, to convert mm before top dead center to degrees, and reverse. I think the file is self explanatory, click the link below and try it out.

My friend Allan had a dream to build a low and simple Puch maxi for shorter rides. We found a Manet Korado that had a good engine and some nice 16″ rims. We kept the parts we could use and sold the rest again.
Another Small Pistons member had a rigid kickstart frame for this project, all the other parts where bought new at JMPB.
We kept the design very simple, everything that isn’t necessary for riding is removed. Allan wanted a low Maxi in black and white design. Check the gallery how that turned out, remember to read the image comments:
